Are you looking for a competent, knowledgeable, neutral person to help your organization manage a special project or implement a new initiative?
I'm Pamela Winkler Tew, a licensed Social Worker who has developed a wide range of skills and a knowledge base that can be an affordable resource to your organization.
About me: I have chosen to work on a consulting basis to provide the flexibility I need while raising young children and managing our small family farm. I began my career in social services at the age of 23 working with victims of domestic abuse in Brooklyn, NY and quickly realized a career in social work was what I wanted. My Master's program was focused on social work and social justice through the lens of policy and advocacy, as I have a firm belief that institutional oppression and systemic policy issues are at the heart of many circumstances impacting vulnerable populations.
My 10 year career since graduate school has included everything from direct service work to providing technical assistance to state and private child-serving agencies nation-wide. This wide-range of experiences has provided me with a broad and unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities of human service focused non-profit organizations.
I believe that quality services to children, youth, young adults and families should be trauma-informed, data driven, outcomes focused and delivered with compassion and in partnership with those served. The voices of individuals recieving services should be infused into all parts of service development and delivery.
Areas of experience: Child welfare, juvenile justice, children's behavioral health, Medicaid, cross-systems collaboration, legislative advocacy, and more.
Skills: Meeting facilitation, staff development and training, implementing quality improvement initiatives, facilitating strategic planning initiatives, conducting needs assessments and developing advocacy campaigns.
